Day 288: Simple Pleasures Card and Envelope

Just the other day, I made the Double Dutch Gate Fold Card with the mermaid. I really liked that card layout and decided to play around with it again.

Simple Pleasure Card

To mix things up a bit, I also created a matching envelope by repeating the dunes on it.

The stamps that I used are ones I got at the expo and they are from a company  called Seaside Stampin’ Ink. Clearly, they tie in well with my beach and sea themes. For the card, I colored the image using chalk pencils and Q-tips. This is a technique that I use a lot because I love the effect. For the inside, I only included a sentiment at the bottom (you can see it peeking out). It reads: Simple pleasures…warm sand and cool breezes. I left the top portion open so that I would have room for a short personal note.

If you haven’t figured it out about me, I love cards that open in unexpected ways, so this is a style that you may see more of from me.
