Day 263: Tropical Garden

When I was on Pinterest the other day, I saw where someone suggested planting a small succulent in a conch type shell. I thought it was a neat idea, so I bought a shell over the weekend. Last night, I had to stop at the grocery store to pick up a couple of things, so I decided to see if they had any small plants that might work in my seashell.

They  had miniature orchids. Now, I think of orchids when I think of tropical beaches, so I thought that it could work. I found our potting soil and put some into the seashell and then transferred the orchid from its little pot into the shell. Hopefully it survives. I don’t exactly have the most green thumb though and I have heard that orchids can be a bit tricky.
