Day 255: Nautical Joy

I was killing a little time last night looking at ideas on Pinterest, and I saw a project that I thought was clever. I loved the way that they modified the anchor to make it into a J and thought that I could easily do that. So, I adapted the idea and created this:

Nautical Joy Sign

I started with a 6×8 canvas board. I covered it with the red and white striped paper which I embellished with twine and coordinating anchor and ship’s wheel charms. Then I added the blue strip in the middle and embellished it with the off-white squares and my message of “Joy.”  I drilled some holes near the top of the whole thing and used more twine to create a hanger. Not exactly like the piece that inspired it, but I am pretty happy with my interpretation.
