Day 167: Shrinky Dink Bracelet

Today’s wasn’t difficult per se. It just involved a lot of steps.

Shrinky Dink Bracelet

I started out by punching the shapes from Shrinky Dink material. Then I stamped and colored each of the 7 images. Rather than using colored pencils, as I have done in the past, I used markers hoping to get more vibrant colors. I don’t know if the Shrinky Dinks are more vibrant, but my fingers are all a lovely shade of teal now. Then, I ran each of the pieces through my Shrinky Dink oven, one at a time. Then, it was time for assembly. Using 4mm jump rings, I linked all of the Shrinky Dink pieces, add lengths of chain to bring the total length to about 8 inches and then attached a lobster clasp and a larger jump ring to the ends.

From the picture above, it is kind of hard to see what is actually on the Shrinky Dinks, so here is a more detailed photo of just a couple of them:

For the round ones, I used the cute little Fishie Friend from the set of stamps I got at my friend’s Stampin’ Up open house. For the diamonds, I used a coral stamp from my collection of stamps.

I am not 100% convinced that I love this project, but I am glad that I saw it through (despite getting frustrated working with the tiny jump rings and wanting to give up).
